Concordia Project, St. John, Virgin Islands
These award winning cottages were the vision of Stanley Selengut, known as the “Father of Eco-Tourism”. Built just prior to the “great recession” hitting the U.S. Virgin Islands, the property manager told us that when Hurricane Irma struck in 2017, all of the buildings made out of Eco-Panels (floor, walls and roof) were the ONLY buildings to entirely survive without any structural damage. All other buildings in the development were either partially or entirely destroyed by the approximately 200mph winds that struck St. John. The interior panel skins used a ½” furniture grade plywood skin, while the exterior panel skins used thicker 5/8” thick wolmanized plywood.
